In case you’ve been living on another planet and aren’t aware, SAHM is an acronym for a stay-at-home-mom. That is a misnomer if ever there was one; SAHMs are anything but. They are on the go, all day long (and really, it’s a very very long day), and spend a great deal of time in the car or mini van driving between one destination and another (and another). And a car or mini van is the one place they don’t want to be in an emergency, especially if they’re hauling a kid or two. But it’s inevitable, given how much time is spent in their vehicle. So what, beside the absolute basic necessities - fully charged cell phone and the motor club on speed dial - does a SAHM need in her emergency car kit?
For the SAHMs, these are the real basics: Water and food and…
Water: You may need water to drink, to refill a broken radiator, to clean a boo boo, or for simple hand washing. It won’t hurt to keep a gallon or two on hand during any season of the year, and especially if you’re traveling a long distance or in inclement weather when you might be stuck somewhere. Juice boxes or on-the-go drink mix sticks are also very handy for keeping kiddies quiet.
Food: No need to go out and buy Nasa approved space food; all you need on hand is a bagful of energy bars that will give you enough calories and carbohydrates to sustain you for an extended period. They don’t need refrigeration or heating, and don’t spoil, and some even taste good.
