It was reported recently that the driver of a convertible in Germany lost a little bit of money when it blew out the back of the car while he was driving. Apparently, this guy decided to take an Audi convertible out for a test drive - to see if it was really as much fun as he expected it to be.

Seems he got more “excitement” than he bargained when an envelope that he had tossed into the backseat (for safekeeping, of course), flew out of the car and onto the highway. Inside the envelope was €23,000 (that’s about $32,000) in 100, 200 and 500 notes (his down payment money for said convertible), which fluttered away in the breeze. The police, upon hearing the driver’s tale of woe (and certainly, after they finished laughing), closed down the highway temporarily to allow him time to look for the money. Alas, all that could be found was €20,000. How sad.

What did our newbie convertible driver learn about this little fiasco? He learned the hard way that everything must be buckled down or stowed away when driving in a convertible. He learned that driving a convertible is exciting, but not always in the way you assume it will be. He learned that Andy Warhol was right; that everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes in their life time.

And two final words for Newbie Convertible Driver that he should learn and learn well: Cashier’s Check.
